Do you use AI-Generated Content in your game?
The short answer is: No.
At Drattzy Games, we leverage AI tools such as ChatGPT and GitHub Copilot as part of our development process to improve efficiency and streamline workflows. These tools help us speed up research, refine coding approaches, and ideate potential solutions for implementation. However, all code is thoroughly curated and reviewed by our lead developer, ensuring that every piece of code aligns with our project’s goals and is tailored to fit the game’s needs.
For art and visual assets, we use AI tools sparingly during the initial concepting phase, such as exploring poses or composition ideas. However, all final art and assets in Alterium Shift are hand-created by professional artists. AI-generated work is never directly used in the game itself.
Our philosophy is to use AI tools as supportive aids, not as replacements for human creativity. The heart of Alterium Shift—its code, art, story, and gameplay—remains driven by the passion and expertise of our talented team.

Why are you doing a Kickstarter if the game is in Early Access on Steam?
Great question! We know it’s not the typical approach to run a Kickstarter for a game that’s already in Early Access, so let’s break it down.
First, we want to emphasize that Alterium Shift is a passion project for us, and we’ve been transparent with our community throughout the development process. Our journey hasn’t been without its challenges, and 2024 was particularly pivotal as we worked through a publisher transition that took time to resolve. During that process, we also reevaluated the game’s scope based on Early Access feedback.
That feedback made it clear that players wanted more: more console ports beyond the planned Nintendo Switch release, more localization for different languages, physical editions of the game, and other features that would elevate the experience. While we’ve made incredible progress as a small team, meeting these expanded goals without a publisher’s backing is a significant challenge. That’s where Kickstarter comes in—it’s our way of inviting the community to help us bring these ambitions to life.
At the same time, Early Access has been an invaluable part of our development journey. It’s given players a chance to experience the game firsthand, provide feedback, and see the project grow in real-time. In a landscape where some Kickstarter projects face scrutiny over whether they’ll ever deliver, Alterium Shift stands out. The game is real, it’s playable, and you can see the progress for yourself.
Backing our Kickstarter is less about hoping for a product someday and more about helping us expand what’s already here. For example, at certain tiers, backers will get immediate access to the Early Access version on Steam, so you can start playing right away and follow our progress as we drive toward the finish line.
We’re incredibly proud of what we’ve accomplished so far—50% of the game’s core content is already available, with a big update bringing us to 75% planned for Q1 2025. But we also know that, with your support, we can take Alterium Shift to the next level and deliver the game you deserve.
In the end, Early Access isn’t a reason not to run a Kickstarter—it’s a reason you can back this project with confidence. You’re not just supporting an idea; you’re supporting a game that’s already here, with a track record of updates, transparency, and community engagement. Together, we can make Alterium Shift the best it can be.

Do physical goods include shipping?
No, shipping costs are not included in the pledge tiers and will be calculated separately during order fulfillment.
We chose this approach to ensure: ✅ 100% of shipping funds go toward shipping – Unlike pledges, Kickstarter takes a percentage of funds raised, meaning including shipping in the base price would reduce what we can put toward fulfillment. ✅ More accurate pricing – Since we are shipping worldwide, costs vary significantly based on backer location. Charging shipping later allows us to calculate the best rates rather than making broad estimates. ✅ Flexibility in fulfillment – After the campaign, we’ll review backer locations and choose the best shipping solutions to minimize costs for everyone.
We will provide estimated shipping costs per region so backers have a general idea of what to expect. Full details will be shared once the campaign is complete and we finalize fulfillment logistics.

What is BackerKit?
BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!
The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.
How does BackerKit work?
After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.
I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?
The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.
Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.
To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.
How do I update my shipping address?
BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.
When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?
That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.
I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?
As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
